Rudy: Okay Lois Lane, what does a highly intelligent, six-foot-two, vivacious California blonde do when she's not writing articles for the New York Post?

Mandy: Oh you're too kind and too accurate. You forgot modest, though. I'm extremely modest. In my free time, I enjoy networking with people who might be able to advance my career. I also do comedy.

Rudy: What had you take a stab at stand-up comedy? What was the inspiration?

Mandy: So many things. My first doll was Improvised Jokes Barbie so that definitely played a part. Also, I'm a total dork who was obsessed with David Letterman as a kid and basically any kind of late-night comedy, really.

My first joke was written in calculus class when I was 16. "I've been having car trouble lately. Trouble is, I don't have a car!" Years later Sinbad was to make a similar joke. That's how I knew I was going to make it.

Rudy: Does your work as a New York Post reporter lend itself to a ton of comedic material?

Mandy: Sure. I interview comedians about comedy and I'm generally tapped into the pulse of pop culture. Sadly, that is also my go-to pick-up line. "I interview comedians about comedy and I'm generally tapped into the pulse of pop culture...and I find you very attractive."
